Miami (March 7, 2023) — Maderal Byrne PLLC is pleased to announce a new addition. Rachel Furst has joined the firm as its third named partner. She is a recognized leader of the plaintiffs’ bar. Consequently, numerous courts have appointed Ms. Furst to oversee complex cases. These include personal injury and consumer class litigations.
A Proven Track Record in Complex Litigation
For example, she served as Co-Lead Counsel of the Champlain Towers Collapse Litigation. In this role, Ms. Furst led the plaintiffs’ steering committee. Furthermore, she directed all aspects of the case. Ultimately, the case settled for $1.2 billion in less than one year. Additionally, Rachel serves as the Liaison Counsel in the In re Short Squeeze Trading MDL. This case is currently pending in the Southern District of Florida. She has also been appointed class counsel in various Florida and national class actions.

Leadership in the Florida and Federal Bar
Beyond her select appointments in past and pending litigations, Ms. Furst holds several leadership roles. Specifically, she has been elected or appointed to positions in the Florida and Federal bar. Currently, she serves on the executive board of the Federal Bar Association. Moreover, the Florida Bar president appointed her to consecutive terms on the federal court practice committee. Additionally, the Chief Judge in the Southern District of Florida has selected her for multiple committees. These include numerous Magistrate Judge Selection and Retention Committees for the Miami Division.
Focusing on Complex Injury and Mass Torts
Ms. Furst also commented on her new role.
