Maderal Byrne & Furst PLLC is proud to announce that partner Rachel Wagner Furst has been appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the In Re FTX Cryptocurrency Exchange Collapse Litigation (MDL No. 3076), along with Plaintiffs’ Co-Lead Counsel, David Boies, and Adam Moskowitz. Together the court-appointed Plaintiffs’ counsel will lead the litigation on behalf of the victims of the FTX platform collapse in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Rachel is an experienced class action and multi-district litigation attorney with prior appointments to plaintiffs’ leadership committees. The firm’s attorneys are recognized leaders in complex injury, class action, and mass tort litigations and have been appointed to leadership roles throughout the nation.

The November 2022 downfall of FTX, once the third-largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world, caused hundreds of thousands of investors to lose billions of dollars. Numerous class and non-class actions were filed after the FTX bankruptcy, principally alleging fraudulent and conspiratorial conduct with regard to the promotion, marketing, auditing, and misappropriation of funds. These cases were all consolidated on June 5, 2023, in front of the Honorable K. Michael Moore, in the United District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
